Excuse my French! is the website of Bristol-based French teacher Imane Khodja-Smith, a native French speaker now settled in England.  As a Parisian with 10 years’ experience of teaching at all levels, from one-to-one private tuition to classroom based groups, I now provide French lessons across Bristol.

I specialise in teaching for the real world of today – fun, informal, slightly irreverent – but practical and above all useful!  I introduce the humour of the language, and its everyday use in real conversational settings.  I know that for your French to be used, you need to become comfortable speaking it – whatever your level is – and so to help you develop that confidence I keep lessons flexible and enjoyable.  You may not even notice that you’re actually “working”!
